Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

NSI is 5% this ranking cycle

Look around - 1 out of every 20 employees will be gone after this hunger games. Look at people with CL above, equal, and lower than you. If you can’t identify the 1 out of every 20 who will be NSI, then you are the NSI tribute. If you can identify the 5%, then likely you are still the tribute. The best strategy is to spend your time smiling, agreeing with everyone, and doing nothing but looking for another job. When a good offer comes along, take it unless it is close to when you get PIP’d - in that case take the three months pay and start a new job.

5% globally but the reality is that HC10 (high cost) countries will be 10%+ and the lower cost countries will be less than 1% PIP.

If you are PIP'd, you will not receive a merit raise for the next 12 to 24 months.

Is the PIP system implemented in India?

From my interactions with BTC, PIP should be 25% there. Skills, if any, not matching job title.

The worst one that I dealt with was famous for incompetence so was just transferred into a different type job instead of PIP.

Since you’re so optimistic, just try to beat the PIP, stay and become roadkill just ready for the next downsizing.

True: Though 5% may be NSI'd, many will make it through the PIP and stay.

Announcing the percentage of the workforce that requires significant improvement prior to the start of assessments is obviously not related to performance.

Just a 5% layoff with very lose connection to performance as I know many excellent employees PIP’d because they upset the Apple Cart.

Americans say “exact same” instead of “exactly same”.

There are so many others.

@4mde+1mHPtv1O

Do you want to know how many Americans say, “I could care less” instead of “I couldn’t care less”?

The meaning of double-negative is lost on the whole population of the so-called native-English speakers. But then the British don’t think the Americans speak English anyway!

@3sei+1mHPtv1O

Sincerely, im not trying to troll etc

But try working at Honeywell if you want to feel REALLY valued.
Or Lowe’s
Or home depot or any fast food chain

May not be perfect but there are far worse places to work.

And there will always be better places. Just like there is always someone smarter, faster etc

I’ll wait for the down votes now

Hello Mr. EM warrior and chief Kool-Aid drinker.

95% are not fine.

Just 20% are fine, the Hi-Pos and management.

The other 80% feels unappreciated, soul crushed, and treated unfairly.

This is not what happens in "any other company"

This is unique to EM and consequence of its toxic culture.

NSI anyone who claim to be involved in “strategy” and marketing. Many I’ve encountered are complete mor0ns who doesn’t have a clue what they are doing nor can speak coherently on the topic. Nor can they do real work or execute. Just a draw on people’s time and resources going after stupid ideas/ fabricating insights that goes nowhere.

So 95% are fine. What’s the problem; you. No matter what company you go to you will still be a loser.

Wrong. 5% will be NSI'ed but many will make it through the PIP and stay. Only people who want to leave, or are slack-jawed m0rons like the OP, will be let go.

Agree 5% NSI globally but in the HC10 "high cost" countries it may be up to 20% in locations such as Houston, Belgium, and Singapore.

Remember that we are aggressively hiring in "Low Cost" countries, so the percentages of NSI must be higher in the HC10 countries to compensate.

Sound advice. Personally, I wouldn't even look for another job. I'd collect the paycheck, WFH as much as possible, and take the PIL when it comes. Imagine the anger on your manager's face knowing they can't fire you ahead of the PIP process. Use EM's Hunger Games against them by doing J4CK $HIT for the next 2-3 months while they go through their internal process of approvals.
