CW is next in line for CEO, not HON. They’re purposefully putting CW in the C&M position so he is well rounded so in 2 years when JD leaves CW will be “ready”

Just an admittedly petty gripe.

I always dislike the official announcements because they are framed like this: “[Promoted Person] has been responsible for 40% growth in their org, and [list of other good things solely attributed to that person].

I always read those and think “No, [Promoted Person] managed and signed-off on things, but it was dozens or hundreds of people below them who ACTUALLY did all the work to create those results. [Promoted Person] just so happened to be sitting in the big chair when all of that happened.”

You’d think that with Nike’s emphasis on teams these press releases wouldn’t single out ONE person for creating results that were in reality created by the small army of people who work under that person. THOSE people created 98%+ of the results. Yet they are never mentioned.

I know, it’s petty. But it’s 2023 not 1963. Maybe it’s time to rewrite these press releases to acknowledge that, in fact, that one person is not solely or even primarily responsible for those cited results.
