Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Safest department

Rumors of layoffs make me very anxious. I'm preparing anyway, although I refuse to believe that the rumored layoffs will be so big. Do you think there are some departments that are safer than others?

If you think your department is safe, it’s at risk. Tbh it’s the complacency that’s driving a lot of these role closures. People got lazy during covid thinking they have a safe cushy wfh job. Now that sh-t is starting to get real, who do you think is getting axed first? All the people and departments that were just barely coasting by.

DEI is the safest.

Followed closely by commercial real estate banking. Those guys (the bankers/portfolio managers) never get laid off no matter how bad things get.
