Thread regarding Fossil Inc. layoffs

Fossil IPO is coming

I guess Fossil has a clear strategy.
They are making fossil leaner and leaner for an initial public offer (IPO).
cost + opex reductions. more than 1 reorg in short time with the only focus over costs.

This is really not new thinking. All public companies go through intense shareholder and board pressure to get leaner, especially during times of market volatility and Fossil is going through both macro AND micro pressure.

You would try to get lean at the very minimum, in order to not be forced out of your CXO job. Only as a secondary consideration could be done to be acquired as well but you'd have to have another company think they can right the ship and sell it for a significant enough profit.

Maybe this will change in the future, but it's not a pretty picture when Fossil's enterprise value is roughly $200M now with no buyers... Less than the acquisition price it paid for Misfit in 2015.

you are right, sorry.
I meant they are making fossil leaner & leaner because they want to sell fossil to some competitor or fund

IPO? Fossil has been public for years. Your comment makes no sense
