Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Memorial Day Weekend - RIP AT&T

This will be the last major holiday many of us will enjoy as employees before major changes happen at T. Take some time to enjoy your time off before major shakeups of RTO and surpluses happen.

“Severance will come with a cutoff date. The company is aware many will drag their feet if able.”

There were several posts on this board from employees who bragged about planning to do this very thing. Leadership had to see this.

Severance will come with a cutoff date. The company is aware many will drag their feet if able.

Your severance will be contingent on a specific date.

“Your job has moved and has been assigned to (location) , if you do not wish to relocate your off payroll date will be X with severance. Failure to be at your designated office space by X will result in termination for job abandonment and you will NOT receive severance.”

"Why do people keep asking about severance?any actual att employee impacted by this already knows you will get severance if greater than 50 miles from your assigned hub. Quit spreading panic…"

I completely agree and expect the same, however we have so many people on here claiming there will be no severance pay (just generously sharing their negativity with everyone I'm guessing), that many others are still confused and overwhelmed by fear of being thrown out like trash. It will be fine, guys.

If employees refuse to relocate, do they get severance? If not, yet another greedy ploy by AT&T. Very poor leadership. It's funny how the leadership believes they are the smartest people in the company and do not listen to the people who actually know how to do the jobs. They are the least capable of running the company. When will the shareholders and board of directors wise up? Actually, the board of directors is also in need of refreshing.

True, let this be a reminder to those younger folks just starting out a career . Corporations don't give a sh*t about you or your life, always take more when you can, have zero loyalty and never go above or beyond ,unless it makes sense.

I know. A few folks who have 15-20 years with this place and it was never an issue not working near a hub (pre COViD) , somehow they contributed all these years before ...what a load of bs.

This is exactly what it appears a surplus action, without incurring the negative headlines of mass layoffs.
