Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Rumor: Ford is UAW strike target

And the likelihood of an actual strike is very very high.

Ford won't give up the two-tier pay structure. UAW won't keep it. It will be an impasse that will require weeks of a strike to resolve.

Ford will try to ride it out with their Mexico plant still producing. UAW will stick it to them where it hurts...... the F150.

It will be long and bloody! And it is going to mean another year of losses.

All 3 Detroit 3 companies have significant BEV futures which lessens the UAW stronghold on them. The unions will have to concede that manual labor is not required to the same extent with legacy ICE vehicles as it will be with digital mobility.

Working at the plant, I’ve talked with quite a few union people. They are hearing that what’s most likely to happen with the new president is all 3 will strike at the same time. The membership across the board is not happy. They want COLA and pensions back.

Ford is always the UAWs b$tch. They always celebrate and brag they are the first to settle. They roll over every time.

@ztx+1mOYvlpO. Yes, BEV will reduce the need for UAW employees in the future. That is exactly why the UAW needs to go for it this cycle. The government and genius management's poorly conceived transformation is dependent on UAW produced F150s. The UAW holds all the cards this contract cycle.

I don't think the union has strong ground to stand on this cycle as they know BEV and data/subscription features will become the company's main revenue draw. By default much less hourly labor will be required.

GM and Ford are both hemorrhaging in stock price, and both look terrible in the chart. I would suspect Stellantis will be the target.

I thought it was a known fact Ford is first to the table with negotiations.

I find their dog and pony show at various plants amusing Like who are you trying to kid? We will focus on u when it serves us. Give me a break.

The only thing transparent is the a-s kissing Ford is doing now with the UAW.
