Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

Being a knowledgeable and experienced person at L3 is a curse

You get all the work and no rewards. Plus, you're the first on the list when there are layoffs. Fun.

Being knowledgeable makes you a threat to a management that has no clue.

This is exactly what caused me to leave last year after spending close to 20 years at the company. The talented people were completely overloaded while corporate became one of the most woke defense contractors out there.

Inclusion by exclusion is the best way to describe it. Corporate HR came down to our facility and told us that we were maxxed out with white males in senior management positions. As a result, any promotions or hirings were locked out because of your skin color and gender. Since then, there has been a mass exodus and the company has gone from one of the most profitable to one of the biggest risks in the company.

The best is when corporate did annual compensation adjustments in 2022. After the supervisors put their recommendations in, corporate came through and gave anyone that was not a white male a bigger % increase than what was budgeted. All except one guy on the shop floor that happened to have a first name that is typically used by females.

In this layoff the term used was we had to downsize because financially it made sense. So 90plus ppl lose their job because the 3rd floor can't manage a budget, and there is zero actual training on proper technique in some of the areas you are thrown into to "help out" the company. This will happen again and again but when you're a level 5 mgr and up it's mess up move up and blame the ppl doing the work.

I have been employed here for nearly a decade and agree. I am actively searching for another place to work. The talented people have mostly left for competitors or places where knowledge is an asset not a liability. The new leadership regime is surrounding itself with those who will say yes to them. The culture now is akin to working for The Empire in Star Wars. In the end, this corruption will be the demise of the company.
