Have not even had the holiday yet and I am already dreading going to the campus on Tuesday. What an awful place.

Churches are good but they should be guided by government to make sure there are no issues like what happened before. Show your Pride this June!
@2qfb+1mQn1VlH Godlessness? Lol you’re delusional. Churches are some of the most corrupt organizations in the world. Also responsible for child abuse.
The key question is, "What will be our global headcount at the end of 2023 and what percentage of employees will be outsourced/offshored from the ten high-cost countries (HC10) to the much lower cost Malaysia/India/Argentina/Brazil/Prague/Budapest support centers?"

Hey, where did everyone go? I’m not sure we have solved the boomer yet
@2qfb I love how all of these old guys with messed-up lives feel entitled to lecture everyone else about their personal values.
EM made a record 59 billion in profit and implemented Hotdesking.
Just think how bad EM will treat employees when profits reduce.
Seems as though the Execs just want to increase attrition.
All of you hating on Boomers are just plain evil. This company's problems are not just from Boomers ----its people from all generations creating one he-l of a toxic soup. It's greed and egotism and Godlessness. That can be said about our society as well
Once upon a time Rockefeller struck oil. Hundred years or so later, we have the option to work for a slice of that company and benefit ourselves from the natural resource.
It's an option not a jail sentence - if you can't be happy in the USA it's due to your internal/mental issues, not the environment.
Things will be much better when the boomers leave and we take over.
There is nothing but boomers in senior leadership - refusing to acknowledge things that are normal at other companies. Examples being - 9/80’s, hybrid work schedule, and bonuses.
And we wondering why people are leaving…. BOOMERS set policy, not only for our company but the nation as a whole. Now, tell me who is really satisfied with the decisions being made? If you are happy, you’d have to be in a minority (probably for the first time in your white little life).
Post ID: @1ypl+1mQn1VlH, if you actually worked @EM you would realize boomers are gone…. 🤡
@1wit The referenced age cohort were/are the most adamant about RTO and are also the ones setting the workplace policies.
Nobody is calling for anyone to be “eradicated”. We’re just looking forward to your natural demise and making a better workplace (and world) after you’re all gone, which will (thankfully) be more sooner than later.
It really is all about mindset. I like going to the campus to see the hot tail just barely peeking out from the short skirts. Calves and heels - hoo-ah!
Boomers Bad
A single post about dreading a return to the office devolves into a call for boomer eradication. Not sure what conclusions to draw from this, but mental health issues might be near the top of the list.
The boomers are the worst. They took everything and now have the best pensions. There needs to be a law to make sure things are more fairly divided. That is the only way this will work.
Dreading going to work?
Yeah, I know what you mean. I love my work until I started working for ExxonMobil. The environment, the toxic culture, and the way I was treated was so bad that over the years, I started hating my job. Had to quit and decompress. Found another job where I can start loving what I do again. When I look back on my career, my experience at EM will simply be lesson learned on what to avoid.
I agree with OP. IHowevet, i's really the Campus environment. Working in manufacturing or in production at an affiliate is much more satisfying and where the real work is. Looking forward to a meaningful assignment away from "EMTEC".
Back to the point.
You're working for the 3rd most despised company in the world. Used to be #1 in that category.
So things are improving.
So this is AI! Boomers WTH people look on the mirror . This is on everyone . People are flawed no matter what generation !
@1rov Ten more years max. Sooner if they cut Medicare and Social Security (fingers crossed). Tired of paying into both just to keep the boomers around even longer.
I’m making a list of everything we’re going to need to fix once they’re finally gone.
@1axi LOL Google it boomer
Who the heck is TL & DR? Some boomers that got us in the national debt crisis or some others that have been making promises for decades about curbing global warming but just talked and never took action? Or maybe they were part of the boomer group from the 2008 financial crisis that took the golden parachutes from the tax payers? Or maybe they were foreign policy diplomats that let the Russians and Chinese manhandle our country? Please enlighten me….
The record of the boomer generation is abysmal!!!! Fail!
We’ll finally know what it’s like to have real freedom and personal liberty once these boomers are gone. For them it’s all about domination and control over ever aspect of our lives.
@1ypl TL;DR
The boomers are the worst! Their parents went through a depression and fought a world war to make this country the premier super power…. They are spoiled, ran this country into the ground - both politically (on BOTH sides of the aisle) and characteristically.
We all want participation ribbons and $200k/year to work 30 hours a week…. The boomers kids are projected to have a lower quality of life than their boomer parents. Who’s fault is that?
The boomers have proven themselves incapable of leadership on several levels - seriously think about the best leaders in this country over the last 30 years from that generation…?
Time for the next generation to take the reins… move the eff over let someone with some vision drive the dang ship.
Mic drop as I walk away with a roaring ovation.
@kea The people complaining about showing up are the same people who demanded RTO to begin with.
You try reasoning with these boomers on this. I gave up a long time ago and resigned myself to waiting for them to pass away of natural causes. When they’re gone we can fix work and everything else they broke on their way out. Until then I just tune them out.
@OP You do realize that it’s possible to resign and get a job elsewhere, don’t you?
Just putting that out there for those of you who dread showing up to your current job.
If only you had a choice in this matter.
You just need to change your mindset a little. You are dreading because you care too much. Care a little less on disappointing your supervisor, you will not lose sleep again over going to work.
Presentism is all that matters. We're back to 2019, exactly what all the corporates want. Autonomy and empowerment are not for you!
It is well documented that the two most dissatisfying activities one can engage in are commuting and sitting in meetings...which are the two top activities Exxon leadership is forcing us to do.
This company is a textbook example of workplace alienation.
