Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Rarely does anyone feel appreciated here

Maybe I'm wrong, but I have the impression that employee dissatisfaction is greater than ever, at least since I've been working here and I've been here for a very long time.
People want to feel appreciated, but who can say that they feel that way here today?

@Nuxg+1mTD1hRP you obviously do not work in any of the areas of Chase that experiences layoffs every few months. You, too, would get tired of the constant worry of whether layoffs are around the corner, whole departments being replaced by inferior trained non usa employees ( not their fault) , being constantly given more work to do with little training and told point blank, you don't like it? Leave. Meaning NO ONE is to provide any feedback unless it's positive. Measuring your work by surveys that reflect every department.( not your work alone)but it's counted against you if anything goes wrong in the process, little raises, if any. Being constantly reminded that you're replaceable. It's just not healthy. Period. You're lucky to be left alone. Every thing we do is monitored. From entering the building to answering our cheap phone, to keystrokes on the computer. Yeah. I wouldn't mind your job at all. You're the exception. Not the rule.

I think there's something wrong if you feel your workplace needs to appreciate you.
I come here to do the work I want to do, I do it and I go home. I know what work I put, so if I did good, there's the satisfaction of a job well done. In addition, the positive outcomes at work are the reward. Also there's the paycheck and bonus (however small it might be).

You need someone to tell you they're thankful for what you do? There's a disconnect somewhere, if you think all your work is in vain and has no value, and you need your management to make up for that by thanking you or showing appreciation. Instead, embrace the reality which is that no body does appreciate you here or elsewhere. You come here to do the work you want to do, because we get paid to bring business outcomes.

I'm not a manager or a leader, just someone who likes to work on his own terms. This is a pretty friggin great place for this. You find your niche, you can be here for a life time and enjoy a nice work environment.

Chase managers have always been very positive and good leaders where I have worked. The coworkers usually get along well and help each other. Sorry some of you don’t feel appreciated enough. Just remember that your customers appreciate all of your help and attention to details.

I think a majority of us are sick n tired of hearing that line. You clearly must be a manager 🙄. Should most of us be happy that we're doing the work of 2+ FTEs and more just keeps getting piled on us?? And pennies on the dollar for year end reviews for going above n beyond all year? Or dangle the bonus carrot too keep ppl from leaving during "purchase" season just to then turn around and no longer offer this?? Exactly smh!!!! Chase should be damn happy that the ones that continue to survive the layoffs are quality employees and they should appreciate them just a little more don't you think?? But that would be too much to ask for or expect from any level of mgmt at this bank especially in home lending/operations

@oyf+1mTD1hRP, then you would not accomplish anything. The human life is very short. I do not want to waste my time with a job where I do not feel appreciated or/or there is no future. Less skilled employees are being promoted daily. My manager will not support me in my endeavors. There is no career path and promotion is out of the question. In fact, the manager mentioned that no one from my team stands a chance of being promoted. Yet, the same person admitted that performance is above expectations. Apparently, management will tell what you want to hear. It doesn't cost anything.

Maybe just my team, but I don’t feel that way at all. I’ve had a lot of jobs. Some were good, most were sh-t. All I can say is that I feel like I have it pretty good here compared to everywhere else I’ve been.
