Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Hub relocation is collaboration zone version 2

Give a year or so and it will fail again just like collaboration zone 3 years back.

Long term worker here. I could work circles around you newbies and get it right the first time so stfu Your just jealous because you’ll never get as many years as I have.

“but the problem with that is all the people who are likely to be told to gtfo by the end of this year wont benefit from at&t changing their mind once again.”

If we are really honest, one of the best things that could happen at AT&T is a full reset of employees. Too many longterm workers contribute nothing to the business. .

Before you know it we will probably have to pay a fee to use the desk. Part of their franchise agreement with employees

probably true,
but the problem with that is all the people who are likely to be told to gtfo by the end of this year wont benefit from at&t changing their mind once again.

hopefully they change their mind before the ATS phase 2 where additional employees are faced with that Hobson's choice of moving or quit.

To the last comment. That already in place. The deadline is probably June 15th for the decisions as to who is going to be fired for some reason. Then moves. It’s already being observed

I will not be able to conduct those calls professionally slammed into a fish tank with 500 other phone calls going on at the same time.

a decent headset will keep down the background noise so you can here them and they wont year the mayhem around you.

i paid a lot for my headset cause the company only buys these headsets for the important people.
wonder if i'm gonna have to bring my own chair too.

It is an expensive endeavour the employer is doing and very risky
Employees can collaborate also to protest about the decision, it is much easier to collaborate on frustration together than remote
I would have rather done a deep cut off employees based on performance .. or gut feeling ior whatever rather than this

"People are going to fight or not work because they are distracted."

Exactly. I have calls with customers literally from 8:00AM to 5:00PM every day. I will not be able to conduct those calls professionally slammed into a fish tank with 500 other phone calls going on at the same time.

The company wants to cram a bunch of people in a room like high school or college students . It’s obvious it’s not going to work for professionals. . People are going to fight or not work because they are distracted. Yes it’s a bonehead idea.
