Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Toxic.. time to move on

These layoffs have just become ridiculous one after another after another then more this summer and winter. Optum continuously lays off. It’s toxic and the millions of dollars the Executive leadership takes is sickening. Our CEO isn’t even from this country (read his bio his dealings in big pharma/China is eye opening) and United is plagued with lawsuits and sending all they can offshore. I’m done. I know this is a drop in the bucket but I can’t deal with constant worry and morally/ethically continue to work for such a corrupt company. Yes I posted in CHC page since we are now one company.

Agreed. I’ve hung in through 3 redeployments in my 8 years and I just can’t take the instability anymore. They can’t accurately forecast what they want or need because of constant restructuring. I’m done watching mass layoffs just to watch mass rehires rapidly. Insanity

There’s a good chance roles won’t be replaced as people leave. Even if managers want to fill them.

Coming from coworker with inside knowledge (think chief of staff type role), layoffs will occur through the rest of the year across various teams. Goal is to get employee counts back to same level as 2022. Can’t afford hyper growth.
