Thread regarding First American Corp. layoffs

First Non-American Corp.

This company should be called First Non-American as its transitioning pretty much all positions except management (but of course!) To NPS (outsourcing). They touted how they are advanced and are transforming the insurance industry through remote operations, but what they did not say was that the workers handling the jobs would all be NPS employees with only a handful of workers from the US marginally overseeing the production. If you are being laid off at FA, chances are 9 times out of ten, your job just got outsourced.

Company was great for many years now totally su-ks. Let go of all older workers ageism ad it’s best now they have all unskilled workers and they even demoted their own managers. Company going downhill nobody knows what they are doing

Good to know. I worked at First American for just 5 weeks in IT as a contractor before taking a management position at a completely different industry early in 2020. I always wondered if it may have been a good place to stay but given my experience at Pacific Life and the way with more or less all insurance and financial institutions the trend is less and less american staff and more and more overseas contractors.

Being the CIO came from Toyota where I was told she was part of chopping and outsourcing for years coupled with the fact First American had such a large employee base I just couldn’t drop that vibe that I would go through that all over again. Another wave of pacific life folks came there after I did but again all director level and up so probably have better footing.
