Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Raja geta the boot but AXG management stays intact?

I can't for the life of me understand why the same folks who dropped the iGFX ball starting with Haswell through Skylake are still around. Sure Raja spent most of his time at Intel filming a movie in India but he supposedly has leaders in positions to execute. What happened to the days of yiu don't do the job you were payed for then we remove you ans replace with someone who can? How is Lisa Pearce still around when she has been part of the problem for years? How are the folks who were let go in ACT several years ago back in AXG? Does anyone else notice the pattern here? People wonder why Intels culture and work ethic has went downhill, if you wonder just look at the managers in the same organizations over years and you will get your answers.

More fun as leftovers from Dell come into Intel for retirement. Raja' replacement DP is a Dell reject, 1 year in CCG. Not going anywhere any time soon.

@Op -- I agree with your observation. Here is your answer. Over time, especially with a repeated attempt at a failed strategy like Intel in graphics, smart engineers and managers recognize the dumpster fire and stay clear of it. It is also hard to hire new outside talent to fix the problem. For these reasons, Intel promotes those who have failed in the past and the outcome of next round failure is all but assured.

Aside. Look what does happens when Intel brings in Sr outside managers like Raja 'Ballywood' or that Qualcomm guy Murthy. They fail. Intel ELT needs to examine their external hiring track record here, it is dismal. If you research it deeply, you will find the people that are being brought in are those that have been passed over or pushed out at their former company. Or, they are DEI hires but they know nothing about silicon.
Realize, it is very difficult to get a superstar to come over to Intel. So, you get the rejects. Now, if you do your hiring process correctly and check carefully, you can easily find out the history of these people. Yet, when Intel gets in dire straights over internal failures they try to go outside for the very reason the Op points out, it will look foolish to keep promoting those that failed. Failures beget more failures... until you change what you are doing.

True it sets a cultural precedent of low expectations and accountability. The higher up you are the more effective you should be. We see this throughout society and it is an age old problem dating at least as far back as the Greek senate. Surely there are modern solutions and we have learned to better hold those in positions of trust to higher standards.
