OPTUM wants to fire 40% of the work force and hire contractors. That means ~24k people will lose their jobs. Executives don't have to worry about putting a roof over their families head, food on the table, or make sure their loved ones have health insurance. 24,000 people that actually work, could have their entire life upturned because $3.7 billion in revenue in three months isn't enough. Executives sit behind their desk, not doing actual work that actual makes OPTUM money, but they get to decide if we, people that actually work, get to eat or not. They sit on stage talking about making a difference in our customer's lives, while making ours he-l. Add more stress, more work load, more everything except for a happy work environment.

Bigger picture: Optum is prepping for eventual transition to AI. Strategic move being made by many companies. Lots of work behind the scenes that many are not aware of. A few of us have been privy to what AI can do and it is both exciting and frightening.
I agree with you 💯. The American call center representatives are constantly being dump on with additional responsibilities without any increase in pay. We are also given health insurance with extremely high deductibles.
That’s pretty extreme and kind of unbelievable. The problem with the “information” posted on this forum is there is no way to fact check. No middle manager would even be privy to such information so there’s no point in asking your manager. VP’s and C level will be tight lipped. It’s highly unlikely they’ll leak something like that and jeopardize their highly compensated position.
All you have to look at is facilities management who is run by contractors; soiled bandaids added to healthcare and rx sites which are highly regulated. What a disaster
