Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Go Woke and we are getting BROKEN see below stinky's email

seems like this company is not looking for talents..

To: All AT&T employees
In order to connect all people to greater possibility, it’s important that the diversity of our employees reflect the diversity of our communities and customers. That means taking a close look at our workforce demographics on a regular basis and remaining focused on driving representation throughout all employee levels.
Over the past 3 years, we’ve committed to a more open dialogue and addressing existing inequities inside and outside of AT&T. While progress doesn’t happen overnight, we’re making encouraging headway.
Looking at 2022 results across our U.S. employee base, we saw improvement in notable areas, and like past years, identified areas of opportunity where we can improve. A few wins include:
Hiring
• More than 75% of open positions were filled by talent from historically underrepresented communities compared with 2021.
• External hires of women increased 10%.
• We increased representation of Asian American and Pacific Islander talent within our new hires by 6%.
Promotions
• 69% of internal promotions were filled by talent from historically underrepresented communities representing a year-over-year increase of 5%.
• We saw an 11% increase in promotions of women at the senior leader level.
• Black talent representation of promotions increased 7%.
We also increased our percentage of representation across LGBTQ+, individuals with disabilities and veterans in 2022.
While it’s reassuring to see progress, we still have work to do. For example, at the senior leader level, our Hispanic/Latino talent declined 14%, and Black talent remained flat. GM level for Hispanic/Latino talent also remains flat.
We should always strive for AT&T to be a “big tent” where all backgrounds, ethnicities, identities, and points of view are welcome – and for everyone to feel like they can be their best and authentic selves at work and do it in a manner that allows AT&T to achieve its Purpose.
Part of how we’ll do that and continue to build momentum year over year is ensuring we stay focused on how we drive change. Our Chief Diversity Officer, Michelle Jordan, is working with leadership in each business unit to understand and address their unique needs and challenges and develop contextualized action plans.
Michelle recently sat down with Jeremy Legg and Jen Robertson to discuss our results and our efforts to make progress, including establishing new DE&I focus areas. I encourage you to watch it here.
To read more about our 2022 workforce demographic results, visit our DE&I website, which includes details on how diversity, equity and inclusion are shaping our business.
Let’s continue working together to inspire inclusivity and connect people – all people – to greater possibility.
Thank you,

Now retiree pensions offloaded to Athene annuity company, of course this only affects those making $2,200 or less a month. The elites still keep their deal.

We're suppressing lot of minority hires in India.

Last years report showed (exception of the senior level) there is a fair representation of minorities across the company. An over representation if one is going by actual demographics. It’s changing even more this year due to US layoffs and more support work going to India.

Petty, whiny white males will always complain when something was not in their favor. Why shouldn't the company have fair representation of minority groups? It's long overdue to give oppressed minority groups a chance to shine.

This DEI policy is a throwback to a discriminatory past of the 19th century. Just now in reverse, so much for wanting fairness and being color blind. Interesting how many change their views and justify it when it benefits them.

If you are in minority groups and felt you made it, congrats, but there's no need to echo the sentiment of those white guys lamenting their perceived lost privileges and whining how unfair they were treated now. Many other minority people who worked harder, smarter, and more knowledgeable have been overlooked by their white male boss and were the first to be placed on the chopping block for surplus. I've seen the same play over and over.

You assume a lot, there are many other races (including me) that post on here and on feel the same way as white Americans . Merit should rule, discrimination is wrong for anyone and I wish the company would quit pandering to small activist groups, it only divides and weakens the company. I put in the hard work, earned my credentials, position and I don’t want or need anything given to me, it’s insulting! I have some pride and integrity, sins of the past happened many decades ago. All races in the world have had a comparable past study your history, some are currently still involved in forcibly subjecting other people even of the same race just a different tribe or ethnicity.

I nor my family are part of the victim mentality, we as minorities have many privileges in America not afforded to the majority. You just have to put in the effort, have some initiative, take advantage of the programs/scholarships designed for minorities and quit blaming others. Sorry to get on my soapbox but my family has lived the American dream of emigrating here with nothing then with schooling and hard work have risen to a comfortable middle class lifestyle.

It’s a shame seeing so many Indians migrating to America continuing their unjust caste system forcing out American tech workers, no matter what color they are

"When they sent the percent make ups out about a year ago, the only place under represented by minorities was at senior level.

So due to the issue at senior level, they filled middle management up. That’s virtue signaling at its finest. Act like you did something but actuality you did nothing."

Exactly. And what they actually proved is that white people are actually underrepresented at AT&T.

And the white CIS people? What about them?

Well, you can get right out of here post haste to make room for a DEI candidate.
We have no room here at AT&T for someone that has proven themselves on such flimsy credentials as past positive performance.

A few months back, leadership was looking for mentors for college students at North Carolina A&T- an HCBU. The person who sent it out was Jacqueline P Jackson. The e-mail explicitly stated: "There are mentoring opportunities targeted to African-American, Latino, Native American mentors and some open to all."
In other words, white people need not apply. I found this extremely offensive. Can you imagine the outcry if an e-mail went out looking for mentors and the mail said, "There are mentoring opportunities targeted to white mentors and some open to all."?
It is no wonder that people do not feel valued in this company. The lunch counter has now been closed to white people.

5 little sycophants voted this down. Stankey's fan club seems to be hurting for numbers. What could be the reason?

Good for you to voice your opinion about T's practices of hiring to fill diversity quotas! I can't say for myself, but I'm sure it is insulting to those that have worked hard in America to achieve what they have become only to be told later on that hard work no longer matters. We only care about leveling the playing field so the minorities can get ahead as well! I'm very close to retirement, one foot already out the door, will be so noce to leave this nonsense behind!

I'm Mexican, actually born in Mexico, and I have worked hard to get where I'm at. I DO NOT NEED to be given a job just because of my ethnicity. I want the job because i'm qualified.
Stop the pandering! It's actually insulting.

This woke garbage is why our country is in the condition it is in now. I grew up in the 80s and it used be that the most qualified candidate would get hired for a particular position. Now, large companies (like T) are so worried about pandering to every single segment of our population that they are putting minorities and females in positions just to check a box....and the result has been disastrous.

I can feel the vacuum of talent leaving or retiring earlier due to discrimination for promotions and raises. The word is spreading rapidly and before long the company will also have trouble hiring new talent. Only those that fit in the DEI box have an opportunity, the result is a recipe to go out of business or fall much further behind the competition.

Stankey thinks he is above the law. He believes he can do whatever he wants whenever he wants. It's just a matter of time before karma kicks in! Time for the BOD to kick him to the curb.

DEI won't be complete until the minority rules the majority. Its not equity they want, its a total flip of history.

These goofs like Stankey just hope they will be treated as different when that time comes. They are going to be disappointed.

“ DEI doesn’t matter because the company does not enforce the COBC on racist employees!!!”

DEI while having on the surface noble intentions is fundamentally flawed and ultimately discriminates. Equity is not equality. Equality is equal treatment under the law. Equity is a racist concept that some are more deserving than others because of past transgressions. No, we should be judged as individuals based on our merits without consideration of extraneous factors. I judge you as a person that does a good job, very skilled, good teammate and a good candidate, I can see that you are xyz or identify as some other group, but that should not factor into my hiring or promotion decisions. You are the best person for the job and that’s why you got it. At least isn’t that how it’s supposed to work? Equity says because you are xyz I should consider that above everything else and promote or hire you over others even if you aren’t the best candidate just because of your xyz factor. I just wish folks would see past all this racial and other groups mess. The protected classifications don’t state unless you are white. It applies to all people in all situations where the law is concerned.

Stock price down 8.73% in the last year.
Stock price down 26.94% since we kicked off DEI initiatives.
