Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Computer monitoring

Just found out from my CSL that every employee will have their computer monitored by a technology system which records the amount of time spent based on keystroke activity. This begins next Monday as the program is being pushed to every Allstate computer over the weekend and will activate automatically once the computer is first turned on come Monday. You will NOT notice any difference and you won’t get any type of message but you will start being timed and recorded starting Monday. Every Friday the results will go to your CSL and anyone who isn’t confirmed as having enough keystroke activity over an unspecified period of time will be immediately placed on a performance improvement plan and if no changes are shown within 30 days you will be terminated immediately. Just another way to reduce staff and treat employees like little children.

Contact center leader here, for over 15 years we've been able to watch the screens of reps. This is nothing new. We can even look back at the day and see when you logged onto the VPN, what program you were using and for how long; can also see when your computer was idle. Do stuff after work, we can have an idea of what you were doing as far the systems used. I'm sure others have better access than I.

I usually just lie and tell my CSL I’m having computer issues and he buys it every time. Some days I don’t even turn my computer on.

The Work Flow Tool is only as good as what someone puts into it. I can easily make myself look like I work 8 full hours a day on the WFT and actually only do about 3 hours max. BTE the last two years doing it my way.

And you guys that swear you care about the customer are spending more time trying to rig the system than taking care of the customer. Jags

It is clear that investors got a whiff of the results being reported tomorrow…stock down big today…..
Don’t worry, the board will approve all bonuses for Wilson and the rest of the senior leader trolls regardless of the billions being bled…
For the rest of you grunts, better be counting your keystrokes…

So I’m averaging 4.5 claims per day which is above goal. The fact that I am efficient and can get it done early should not count against me.

Exactly why all employees should be housed in a call center. Monitoring everyone is much easier that way. WFH does not work when micromanagement is needed. Call centers in the Philippines are great for Allstate to go to. Good prices. Allstate is so happy to be giving the raw folks jobs.

I don't care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Dom too, because they've moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were merry, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire

My manager spends most of his day watching his 2 young kids while his wife is at work so don’t worry about not working an 8 hour day…NOBODY at Allsnake does anymore.

I use a folded piece of cardboard to keep my space bar down so my computer always looks like I’m active when I’m napping…..it’s been working for over a year and I only really work about 2-3 hours a day.

PC monitoring has been going on for at least 10+ yrs now, at varying levels. If you work for the company, pay attention to the mandatory HR LRN videos you take each year as a condition of employment.

Especially the one on Security and how it details out that the equipment you are using, belongs to Allstate and can be monitored at anytime, for any reason.

Next time you log in, actually read the verbiage on the initial login screen that states you are logging into an Allstate owned device that can be monitored at anytime.

As others have stated, if your doing the job your getting paid to do, you won't have any issues....

…and yet Wilson and the senior team makes millions in bonuses as the company bleeds money….
Only the “grunts” will ever be held accountable at this sorry excuse for an “American” company…

What’s the problem if you're working properly and efficiently? Do your job you’re being paid to do and you’ll be fine. Now have a pleasant weekend and see you bright and early on Monday.
