I have been at Wells for around 5 years now and have had the change to move across different teams. A common observation I see is that senior management has no clue on how to mobilize key projects and majority of the times the decisions are brute forced which result in catastrophic outcomes.
Then at various town halls the same senior management says how they are planning to change the bank and put it in a competitive stance with the big players and market wells as the best place to work.
I came from a small bank but is this how it is generally at big banks or is this a unique issue with wells? Some of the issues are shocking and makes me wonder how senior management is not being held accountable by the regulators/board of directors and why customers continue to do business with us?
On the flip side, i have heard that all big banks are the same but then again I am a small bank worker who is not used to this kind of mess. How should one progress his/her career in situations like this? Seems like a tough spot to be in….
Any insight would be appreciated.
