OKay...so some REGIONAL banks are poised to go under just like SVB and First Republic...the writing is on the wall. My question...what happens if Bank of America goes under (which believe it or not is not in a good position right now) with my Wells Fargo paycheck that's auto deposited? Will Wells just not send it? I would assume so - but you know what happens when we 'assume'. I would guess they'd change to paper checks if a designated bank folds...but who the heck knows nowadays...

You obviously have no idea of the political and financial goings on around the world. The Banks will fail...the govt will not be able to bail them all out...and BOA even maybe our (cough cough) wells fargo will fail before it's all over! They're all corrupt and have been for a very long time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If this is a serious question then here is a serious answer. Nothing changes. The ACH sender will send the money and if something is on the other end listening it will accept it whether you have access to the account or not. If nothing answers then your payment is in limbo as payroll will likely try to reprocess the payment 1-2 more times as part of standard practices. The following week they will generally reach out to the intended receiver informing you of he failed transfers and you will be asked to update your direct deposit information through normal processes. And likely with your confirmation they will then begin to process a manual payment via paper check in however many days.
