Thread regarding Kyndryl layoffs

Kyndryl layoffs in Canada and the remaining team

The company's approach to recruitment is troubling, as they appear to have pursued a hiring spree targeting high-salary individuals without a sufficient level of transparency regarding their practices. To make matters worse, there have been reports of salaries being reviewed and reduced, which understandably raises concerns.

The lack of a clear vision and strategy is a further issue, which only compounds the troubling reports of the company's lack of delivery capabilities. The fact that only former IBM employees remain after the recent layoffs suggests a lack of diversity and potential favoritism, which can have a negative impact on morale and company culture.

The company's reported practice of promoting individuals based on personal relationships rather than their qualifications or skills is distressing, especially in light of the lack of understanding of the consultancy business by those in leadership positions. It is disheartening to hear that those who excelled in their roles were let go while others were retained.

The process of layoffs being expedited and compensation being poor is unacceptable, and it is understandable why you would feel disillusioned with the company. It is important for potential employees to carefully research a company's culture and management practices before accepting a job offer, and to be cautious of those that may not prioritize transparency and fairness in their operations.

This list and comments hit the nail on the head regarding Kyndryl Canada. I returned from medical leave yesterday to be laid off. The manner in which this is being conducted is completely unacceptable, there does not seem to be any ethics involved. I was headhunted from my previous role and have been left with a lot of regrets about joining Kyndryl.

Sadly, it's all true.

It's GTS without the brand recognition of IBM and the safety and resources of the IBM organization. It is all t-shirts and slogans with no moral compass or accountability to its employees.

No one in the outside world knows or cares about Kyndryl. Nor should they if you are looking at a career here. Nepotism abounds, along with terribly poor and risky decisions that clients know nothing about. It's so terribly disappointing, even for someone as cynical as me.

It's a rent-a-body shop where all assets are disposable unless you are connected. All their stated values are just lip-service and talking points with zero follow through...with the CEO laughing all the way to the bank.

If IBM couldn't compete in this space, with all their discounts for MVS etc then it seems like the future prospects for Kyndryl just seem overwhelmingly mediocre as an also-ran. AI automation and offshore teams will be the norm here with no loyalty to the 'flesh and bone' as was stated in another post.

Whoever wrote this post… you have succinctly and accurately described my experience with Kyndryl. Came in as an outside hire at spin time, very well paid. They had no idea how to best use my talents - which certainly did not fit into the GTS mould (but hey, Kyndryl was supposed to be new and different, right?). I noticed cronyism and old boys networks amongst the ex-GTS crowd - and some of the newer folks that enjoyed playing politics. Now laid off, with no warning, all while being a very strong contributor. Incredibly poor compensaton when let go. So many of the new, post-spin intake laid off, while so many clueless, lazy, self-serving political clowns remain - GTS lifers who all protect each other at the expense of people who actually wanted to help make a difference and make Kyndryl a new and amazing company. Well, what schmucks were we? Suckered into the story that Kyndryl wouldn’t just be the same old GTS with, just with a stupid new name and cheap-a&& branding. THE WORST working experience of my life. Kyndryl has treated me in the most egregious and disgusting way. Glad to be off that ships of fools.
