Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

New CMO "Official* Yet?

Trust the marketing team has been aware of the appointment for some time, even though it needed to be quiet during Chapter 11.

Why still quiet publicly?

Where can I locate the listings from these exec recruiters? So curious.

Yes.

Alvarez and Marsal do specialize in pivoting a public company to private. Hence why Apollo keeps them very busy.

Interesting that they are the ones who were tapped for the executive appointments. I guess Alix Partners (Becky Roofs official employer) is just managed by Alvarez.
Impressive how they have avoided any scrutiny

From Alvarez Website. Just Amazing how this is all legal
In the first half of 2022, private equity (PE) firms spent roughly $227 billion on public-to-private transactions globally, according to Dealogic data. This corresponds to an increase of almost 40% compared to the same period of 2021. This reflected an environment of heightened economic uncertainty that put pressure on stock market valuations, resulting in many high-quality companies trading at significant discounts compared to pre-crisis levels.

Alvarez & Marsala is the group leading the exec searches. They are on Apollo payroll. They have enlisted several independent tech exec recruiters

The reason that name is familiar is they were one of the first of Apollo's turn-key partners brought in around Aug 22. In fact, we all should have known going private was the only prescribed outcome b/c Alvarez Marsala specialize in transitioning firms from private to public

***AM only has so much influence. Apollo is not allowing AM to just line up his people.

The new Avaya in the end is just the same pig wearing different color lipstick. The cloud story is just same ole Aura Prem stuck into a leaky container. Alan says everybody has a new “spring in their step” after emerging from chapter 22 (33 for some). I wouldn’t confuse that “spring”with employees that are just relieved that they are still employed. Meanwhile all the BoD have to do is sit back and wait to start the yard sale. Sad.

There’s been no shadow CMO. It’s expected that Masarek, flush with newfound stolen equity, will bring in a whole new C-Level staff since he’s already emptied the seats and everyone occupying one is temporary.
