Thread regarding Commscope Inc. layoffs

Commscope doesn't care about us

The company sees employees as a cost to be cut rather than an investment worth making. And if you're a seasoned employee who gets paid more, you're probably gonna be the first to go when there's a layoff or when it's time to divvy up raises or bonuses. It's like they're saying, "We'll take what we can get from you and give you nothing in return."

As one of the many who were laid off on Tuesday I know my years of struggling with multiple jobs has come to an end. All I can do now is feel sympathy for those left behind with even larger workloads. My pain is over, theirs is just beginning.

So true. They expect employees to go above and beyond.then you see hr gone to ground when discussions around l-arris role alignments and bringing those employees pay in line with cs employees. Really 4 years later and still it's up in the air. Disgraceful

Why are some acting surprised that it’s all business. They owe you nothing and you owe them nothing. Be smart, treat yourself like a business and make business decisions for yourself and family, Commscope is. The days of loyalty are lost with the relentless drive for better ROI. If you get caught with your pants down and not prepared, nobody to blame but yourself. Your resume must always be updated and always casually looking for a better opportunity to move on to bigger and better. Don’t let CS or anyone else determine your happiness, you control that.

Kap Kim, some may remember him, most will not… CIO many years ago. Heard him say, the only thing guaranteed is your next paycheck. I was floored to hear that, but came to understand it. He was a a$$, but he was right.

It’s all business. Recent layoffs really showed how Commscope don’t give a cr-p about their employees. My workload has increased so much over these layoffs! I feel extremely underpaid for what I do. Hiring freeze is still in effect. So don’t think I’ll be getting help anytime soon.

Everyone's a number on some spreadsheet. You're only as safe as the number of lifeboats around.
