Thread regarding Ford layoffs

I've stopped buying Ford

How many others have decided to pay back the company's disrespect and clear disdain for us in the same way? Why would I spend my money to make sure those on top get higher bonuses? Maybe I'm shooting myself in the foot with this, but I don't care. I've had enough.

My next vehicle purchase will be based primarily on price. I don't need a vehicle with fancy expensive tech that I have to pay subscription fees for.

After the 2019 SRDs, Ford was proud it had removed its dead weight of "aging" workers as a way to save millions.

The reality is Ford lost more then they'll ever realize. Ford had a major brain drain of historical wisdom and knowledge base following SRD (result: multiple recalls and no solutions). Ford lost repeat customers who used to be employees, and friends and families of those employees (result: millions in lost revenue). They lost an age discrimination lawsuit for their blatant disregard of law (result: millions paid to plaintiffs). So the only one that shot themselves in the foot ---- was Ford.

No more Fords. The quality is trash and the resale market knows it. Doesn’t matter how they “treated” me. I base my vehicle choice on quality and value - Ford checks neither of these boxes.

Got rid of three Ford leases soon after Aug 22. I've never had a Ford that did not suffer at least one major problem.

We need to rise up and boycott everything woke!

We destroyed Gillette, Budweiser, and the NFL! Together we can take down Ford Motor Company!

I still buy and support Ford. I have a lot of friends that work there and the company was very good to me. While I do not like the Wok, DEI or the poor Senior Management, I still want the company to do well.

According to a colleague, their Escape lease has been up for some time. Replacement 2023 escape finally becomes available. Hybrid option, as desired. $650 per month.

Time to say no.

2022 escape had 2 hybrid options (regular and plug-in) at SEL and two higher additional trims levels. This gave price flexibility.

2023 has one hybrid option, plug-in, at the most expensive trim level, $40k+ sticker.
Ford is shooting itself in the foot with this strategy. This will drive customers to competitor such as Toyota RAv hybrid.
Maybe this is a sign that the Escape is soon to be discontinued.
