Aimee’s hires she brought in are starting to fall… now that they have some really good execs on board the EIS org will be shaken up.

Looks like she upped her game after getting canned:

Data Breach was an acquired company. The new is worse and brought the data breach with him.

Nope. It was rumored to be an affair with a direct report and ethics issue.

@2aofm+1mwz8Yq6 to say she was a joke is the understatement of the century. She was condescending, self-centered, arrogant and absolutely clueless when it came to protecting the org. She was simply a sock puppet put in place to placate the DEI agenda. That's it. Nothing more. Booker went out on his own terms after having his fill of arguing with AW's predecessors. Once his royal highness was put on the throne, Bookers' days were pre-numbered.

Aimee was not capable. All these folks from Paypal and Ebay were hired by Amex. She was good at only promoting herself and her PR. On the technical front, her knowledge was ZERO. She would hang out with people and try to promote herself within the network.

There's more to it than "fall guy"

Simple. She was unqualified, and when Booker left, she was left holding the bag for his years of mismanagement. She's the fall guy.

The path of least resistance - when on "hot seat" the execs will look at "alternative approach" - managed services. Yes, one would like to believe "Cant Be Done". Been there and it "limped" along...when it failed the blame storm started...insource/Execs ousted...the cycle repeats itself...The worker bees are the ones always get the short end of the stick...Sadly.. Exec walked away (termination with cause or not) with enough $$ to sail into the sunset or land elsewhere.... repeat steps 1, 2, 3 etc....

Nepotism is prevalent in this org.. there is no logic in cutting people in this org. You described a “logical” approach one hope to rid off people got hired due to nepotism .. well, if one could try to solve worlds hunger with the mess we are in … the latest waves of RIFs speak volume - no logical decision there .. simply CYA by the top to show double digit growth… so .. you can come up with the conclusion — ownership of the mess

What one would gain from knowing: there are multiple cronies aimee hired as friends from amex in eis who each have their armies of people, so why she is cut could shed light on whether those other teams will also get laid off

Like what parts of the strategy changed. If its just the breach then they wouldnt have to worry about getting cut. If its her leadership then the rest of the org gets affected. One would think a savvy CIO could say "this breach highlights the need for UHC to take infosec seriously actually"

Ref: “rumor” seriously ? Are we here to identify root cause of what happened to folks who are no longer here? This is a layoff forum not a gossip social media. Let’s not make it worse for those who no longer with this org. This is a toxic culture.
What would one gained from knowing what happened?

Rumor has it, data breach had nothing to do with ousting of ciso. What really happened?

Can His highness (my foot !!) can once take full responsibilities and go away to other side of the pond, drinking tea?

In reading the press release - “They believe that information including members' first and last names, health insurance member identification numbers, dates of birth, addresses, dates of service, provider names, claim information and group name and number may have been available. “.
Really? Hecklers “selectively” skip SS and/or DL. Once “infiltration” data is considered “compromise” .. changing pwd not going to “evict” the “intruder”. Good luck with the enterprise DW project with the vision of “data fabric”.. leaders with “vision” without strategy .. blame storm continued to swirl around …

"This incident did not involve the disclosure of Social Security numbers or driver's license numbers," the statement said

Check out “Any news 05/04” post. See excerpts - the root cause - Top execs ..
CISO was appointed by "someone" knowing the person has no credentials (CISSP, CCISO, CISUM etc.) nor experience/track record in what it takes as CISO. Why/how was chosen at this org? 1. Personal connection 2. Easy target to take the fall. The level above NEVER takes ownership much of anything except being awarded for job "well done" with more stock options/bonuses...
BTW, data breach in February not surprised...Who's fault? Lack of organization integration strategy and M&A due diligence. This is just the tip of the iceberg... As the old saying goes-
Anyone Can Steer the Ship, But it takes a leader to chart the course...
