Massive outages caused by id--ts not paying attention in Víptela BU and the certificates expired on all Vedge devices. How do you not see something like this coming that’s completely avoidable?
Current work around is “don’t reboot your devices” haha what a joke.
Half that BU should be fired and all of SDWAN should be rolled up under Meraki immediately.
I would require Cisco test and attest all cents. This should be litigated.
The outage was on the legacy vEdge code before the acquisition. Those guys are all gone now - took the money and ran fast in 2 years.
SDWan outage definitely hurts Cisco product image. Where is the Customer Advocacy or CX is doing. Some V.P. should be accountable for this outage.

When JC tried to acquire Viptela the first time they threw him out. But then no other interest popped up so both sides settled.
Viptela was the wrong SDWAN acquisition. They were ex-Cisco and buds with the Cisco management. It was assimilated into IOS-XE code, took a long time, very messy, and very complicated. But it is the only Cisco "router" product that has a GUI. Meraki is not really a router - rather a VPN concentrator that can leak routes when branch sites come online. Probably good for 75% of simple WAN deployments.
Lol I know some key guys who could have seen this disaster coming was let go last Dec LR. No surprise here esp with EN Viptela. They’re probably the worse led group in Csco. Leadership there so uninspiring. Just listening to them during All Hands is very depressing. EN jokes often called the bu-t hole of Csco
