Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

It's not that bad, stop being afraid.

I was caught in the 4/29 RIF, and let me say it has been a blessing. I see a lot of people worrying about future RIFs and I just want to say that the brief period of discomfort is worth it. There are many better companies with competent management and accurate pay. I had a job within 30 days, it's not as bad out here as they make you think it is. I have never felt better or freer now that the sense of impending doom I carried every day is gone.

Y’all must have been in a great and desirable role in VZ to get offers.

Unfortunately I fell for the company lines and have a job very specific to how VZ does things plus am stuck im an area where it silos little pieces of a job into different departments. Sounds great being such a specialist how management sells it but when no one does things like VZ and you only really have experience with a little bit of a job it is worthless.

Within 30 days of my separation. I was very targeted and applied to 10 companies, all remote or hybrid with offices in my area. I was asking therm for Mgr, and at least 100K. Not ridiculous at all.

Couldn't agree more! I was one of the folks hit at the end of the year last year. Within a month I had 3 offers, all of which paid much more. Just keep your resume up to date and hit it hard when the time comes. There are plenty of tech and telecom companies out there searching for talent.

Within 30 days of being notified or 30 days after off payroll date or 30 days after severance ran out? I see very few jobs within my desired commuting distance. Were you looking for an IC, Mgr or Dir role? Also, what is accurate pay? I'm sure most in BR are looking for at least 150k base.
