Walt reneging on WFP

Walt is a coward. He repeatedly sang praises over the firm's workplace flexibility. He contrasted himself with Jamie Dimon and took jabs at David Solomon for wanting people in the office. He said completely remote work was going to happen eventually, COVID simply advanced it by 8-10 years.

Walter W Bettinger II on WFH in his own words:

  • "For the vast, vast, vast majority of our jobs, people can have that kind of flexibility and that's wonderful."
  • "How are we going to win in business? We win with world class talent. So if we have world-class flexibility, we're going to get the best people and we're going to win."
  • "It makes sense."
  • "This isn't some temporary thing."
  • "I want to be world-class."
  • "I promise to never waste your time with corporate speak or half truths or anything like that."

Trust truly is built over time but lost in an instant.

Speak for yourself. All I'm asking is that you be realistic about your lost productivity. Working in a cubicle in an office is the optimal setup versus my home "office" space. Having a separate workspace helps me focus without all the home distractions. The energy and collaboration with Schwabbies is off the charts for me. Plus, it keeps me accountable and super productive, far more than my remote teammates fake being. And the office resources and mentorship available every single day? Invaluable for my growth. Trust me, the cubicle life in the office makes me a happier and, honestly, more fulfilled employee.

The he-l with this place. All they had to do was be honest with us. That way we could have made intelligent decisions.

I turned down a good job with Google to stay here largely based on the fact that I could WFH and have a better quality of life. Now they want me to commute 15 hours per week so that I can join the same teams meetings I was from home?

It has been apparent for a while that Schwab is controlled by and connected to some dirty money. Looks like someone from the World Bank is calling the shots because cities like San Franciso, Chicago, and NY are Sh**holes and dangerous to walk through, rapid trans is dangerous, homeless camps taking over the city streets, dangerous me-h users all over the downtowns, but cities are crying that their businesses are shutting down. Walt is a controlled man, Schwab is compromised, unethical, and has no backbone. Trust has now been broken and this will be irreparable.
