Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Schwab is no longer Schwab

I’ve been with the company for a very, very long time. When I first started it was an absolutely wonderful place to work. We were glad to work our a$$es off and give 100% of ourselves for the vision. That’s back when Chuck was in charge. But ever since Walt took over the culture has been steadily deteriorating to a heartless, soulless corporate shell of its former self. This RTO move is the final death blow to Chuck’s company. Now it’s Schwab In Name Only.

I agree with the person that wants to talk Union. I agree with responding to surveys with the lowest possible score. I agree that we need to oppose this as loud and as public as possible. And I agree that the company needs new leadership.

All that RTO has accomplished is that many of us are done going the extra mile- I will no longer go an extra inch. I’ve been with the company through good times and bad but have never seen a low like this.

Congratulations Walt- you finally ki-led the spirit of Schwab. I hope you’re prepared for the consequences.

I've put in more hours working from home. I basically used my commuting time for work plus more. If they want me in, then they get less productivity from me (IF I do go in. I might just keep on working from home until they get rid of me). My family will still get the same amount of time from me, not less. Also, from now on I will not go extra mile for Schwab! That email clearly showed how much they cared for us so why should we care for the company?

Been here a very long time as well. Used to be proud to work here. Now it's a check and a countdown to retirement.

It’s okay, senior leaders get their big bonuses. Walt got a11% raise last year. They sit in their offices with their perks and ask us to come back to our cubicles and get to hear everyone talk over each other. Great leadership! Like Walt said, takes years to earn trust and seconds to lose it. Oh wait that doesn’t apply to senior leadership.

I would tell people who were unhappy here, they must not have ever worked for a bad company before. Now we're that bad company and it's time to start looking.

This place is a shell of it's former self. Everything we all worked so hard for is gone now
