Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Mass Exodus in March, not October

With the mandatory (and complete bullsh-t) RTO announcement, I don't see the "smart" ones leaving in October, but rather March after bonuses are paid out and RSUs vest.

I absolutely love my job. I love working for Schwab. But I won't work in an office again. So much for keeping those that "exceed expectations". My stomach is in knots over this. One email completely changed everything - work, life, family. The balance is gone.

If you read the earnings release for q1 and executive interviews, we hear that it will be a rough 18 months because we are having to borrow money at a higher interest rate so if you don’t think bonuses will be lower then you are dreaming and need to wake up.

That's not good. Bonus last year was around $90k.

@moj+1n9PYK51 if the stock price stays where it's at or goes lower, bonuses will not be met, guaranteed.

Have you actually been told this or is this just a rumor going around to scare us? I rely on the bonus and I haven’t seen anyone else say this yet /:

Don't get your hopes up regarding bonuses. Not hearing good things

Well said - exactly - I will not return to an office and waste my time in massive commutes, super high fuel expenses, wear on my car and my life balance....not gonna happen.. thought I would've been with schwab for a long time, but guess that will not happen.

I’m not sure how big your bonus is but I am absolutely not sitting through RTO misery for a few thousand bucks in March and that’s only if they don’t sc--w us over with that too. They could decide they’re not doing bonuses anymore.

I don't know how your org works. But in mine the performance reviews have almost nothing to do with actual performance.

It would make sense that they would consider those that have "exceeds expectations" would be considered for continued remote work. If you have a demonstrated ability to be highly productive remote, why risk changing that? Let the underperformers resign.

Record profits! Again! But tighten your belts, reduce travel, and say goodbye to bonuses. JFC. This place has been in a nose dive for nearly a decade.

No point in waiting until March if there are no bonuses. I don't expect bonuses to be very high this year. If we get anything at all.

The say those that hit exceeds on reviews will get a remote pass.
