Walt does not WFH. He has an office in Richfield, but he also travels more than anyone else at Schwab. So not only does he not WFH, he also is away from home probably more than anyone. I'm not defending the RTO decision, but do want to call out this misconception.
Whoever said Walt works from the Richfield building and has an office there is incorrect.
This is correct, he does not work from home, he works from a remote office.
I am not trying to defend this decision, but Walt actually has an office in the Richfield, OH campus.
Also, he mad $24MM last year.. So, he can afford to come in.
Rules for thee but not for me smh
I used to think Walt was a decent person and a fairly capable leader. But he's been exposed as a fraud on both fronts.
Aside from his hypocrisy and outright lack of honesty (don't forget the "Schwab is not moving the HQ from SF" stuff, all at the same time that the plans the General Contractors in Westlake were working against said "New Charles Schwab Corporate Headquarters"), over the past few months his CNBC appearances trying to explain/defend Schwab's financial position and risk management ranged from mediocre to downright embarrassing. And all done from his "office" at home there. Nobody's fooled Walt.
Trust is gained over time and lost in an instant. Guess where you are today.
He’s a hypocrite. He lost my trust in an instant, to use his words.
