Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

RTO'ed out of a job. I simply can't afford it

Had to move out of Austin because rents were so high. I'm two hours away now. I hope everyone gets past this. For me it feels hopeless. With the year I've had this is the last straw for me. Wife left me and took my daughter, lost my mom two months ago. I do appreciate all of the close friends I made at Schwab over the years

fill out the exception form on MyIT, there is an option specifically about living far from the office. my husband left me a few years ago, so i feel your pain. hang in there. i feel like people living further distances will get priority. both my director and their boss were blindsided by this, but I at least feel like my management is pushing back for not just me but my whole team. I hope the same case is for you. hoping for the best for you

Please don’t think it’s hopeless, at least for your daughter. Sounds like you’ve been going through a lot, but your family comes first. It’s hard but at the end of the day, this is a job. It may have been a good place to work but know it’s because we need a paycheck. Other places will provide that and be considerate of the personal toll their decisions have on people’s lives.

I am so sorry to hear what you’ve been going through and will pray you have strength and be shown hope through this difficult time.

Please be easy on yourself and reach out to others as no one could/should go through what you’re going through alone.

Keep your head up!

You will get past this. Not sure what role you have but there are plenty of remote jobs out there friend. Just take it day by day and lean heavily on those around you for support. Don't give up and be strong for your children. Call HR if you need guidance for mental health please!

You're not alone.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. On our team, we are all upset as well. It’s truly awful. We all agree that we could get past it if they had any level of transparency and planning (hint - isn’t that the job of the executive council?)

It just feels.. awful.
