Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Product Development jobs slashed! Reportedly 25% laid off in past 2 weeks! Can anyone confirm?

Even LL5 and LL6 amongst the one laid off over the past 2 weeks and leaders will not confirm that the layoffs are over now! What were your experiences? How to move on?!?

@3yfe - That's pretty much what I'm expecting and told my ex auto industry father-in-law half a dozen years ago. Eventually only the salaried heads in the US will be C-level, BOD, and LL2/LL3 on the family & friends plan in order to skim the profits. Some assembly will remain here to support the "American Made" lie, but most everything will be in LCCs.

@2wmf Any idea what levels the 40 may be? LL4+? Is the plan to make everything from the C-suite down housed in a LCC?

"Why falsify the number of people laid off? The layoffs helped the stock price immediately after the news broke as the stock hit a 180-day high. "

Layoffs are a double edge sword to investors, yes the company is reducing costs, however, it also shows a lack of growth and financial distress. Institutional investors think/plan on long term growth. Less growth and expansion means less profits.

Now there is unusually high bearish options trading going on this week. Someone is betting big, the stock will go down.

How will Ford offset any negative news this quarter? Another round of layoffs?

Heard Melbourne Design Studio will reduce from 140 people to 40 in September. Most are shocked as it had already reduced and only last month ago the %ages were less.

@2ptc+1nAi6gqT - How many are left in Melbourne?

Is anyone engineering product anymore! ANYWHERE?

Won’t be in Australia for much longer.
Design has been decimated and most other departments to follow.
Every quarter sees hundreds more gone. Around 1400 remaining.

Watch your back. When a company schedules a meeting over 1 week ago and then uses something from the day of the meeting to try and sc--w you look out.

Should have taken the page out of the executive playbook. Make decisions in the favor of suppliers and do what’s best for them instead of Ford so when they leave they end up getting a cushy job with that supplier. Just look at were most of the top executives end up after they leave? With the suppliers to collect on their influence pedaling payback. greedy and unethical with nobody that cares about what they do.

Research and Advanced Engineering had complete sections wiped out. Per LL6's comments who is a very close "friend" to her Manager (unofficially they are an item) , the target per division was indeed 25%, but LL2 and LL3 had the final voice in who they kept and who was fired. There was a list per division where all employees with pension were sorted by Seniority, 1st target was 25+ years with a handful of than 10 years to cover HR against lawsuits.
Those divisions that did not meet quota, will start firing at will once 25+ / 20+ employees finish their BEV assignments and can be cut w/o affecting project continuity. Even though LL6 did not have pension and can be considered relatively "safe" told me that the ax is coming w/o distinction at our Division because it did not meet quota for this particular round but it has to meet it before the end of the year. LL6 works at Advanced Engineering.

Yes 25% confirmed and roughly 5,000 salary fired here in the United States. If you really want to know the truth a LL3 said there is a 100 person committee/team in Dearborn actually planning and deciding on the people selected for all of these 25% budget cut’s across all organizations. This is 100% true. More cuts happening in 3rd qtr too. This is all bad. Young people are also being fired too as pawns when senior folks are targeted >20 years. Very horrific company downsizing master plan be actioned against NA salary.

Some areas were cut hard while other areas weren't touched. PD in total definitely didn't see a 25% cut.

Yes, there are a lot of "stealth" cuts, real quiet, even this board doesn't pick up on all of them.

Yes, 25% cut in USA 🇺🇸 but ford is covering it all up by downplaying and falsifying the numbers to the media- it’s not hundreds fired it’s thousands!!!! Like 4,000. Ford is an evil untrustworthy company.
