Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

It’s time to fight back

I’m calling on all employees to band together. Whether you are for RTO or not I am asking everyone for their support. It’s easy for the pro RTO people to brush this off because it doesn’t impact them but wait until they take something away from you. Will you then ask for my help? Where does this end? All of our friends laid off? When they take away the sabbatical? The time to stand up is now. We need to take getting organized seriously. Let’s come up with an action plan. Union? Walkout? Petition? This is only happening because we are allowing it to! Is anyone with me?!

“Stop complaining and be happy you have a god damn job.”

The people that say stuff like this don’t seem to value themselves very much. The company you work for should be happy you work for them.

If they aren’t, they should fire you.

If they are, THEN THEY SHOULD LISTEN TO YOUR COMPLAINTS.

But I suppose if you just don’t have a very good skill set and lucked into your current job, then yes be happy and god damn thankful. I agree.

Everyone should watch Fran Drescher’s speech when she announced the actor’s strike yesterday.

Stop complaining! this is the industry standard across every where, Fidelity E trade RH etc.. I get it the way they announced it is bad, saying they would never change it was bad. They should have instead said their WFH flexibility is subject to change> I get it we have lives and things we need to take care of. As a former Schwab employee this is the reason I left months ago. Knowing something like this was going to be inevitable and god knows one day the regulators just simply say WFH can't be allowed then what will you do? Stop complaining and be happy you have a god damn job.

Through the clients eyes? I doubt they care where we work from as long as they are being taken care of like we have proved for 3 years like we can

Lol the corporate speak. I love how they talk about collaboration. They don’t get that a lot of us sit in cubicles taking back to back to back calls while all of our stats are monitored. No one is collaborating we are chained to the desk and we have no time to talk to each other and it’s only going to get worse with everyone quitting

You must be in management. Did the company consider the lives they have up ended with their decision? You only care about shareholders and what ever message fits your narrative at the time. You were so caring when work from home was the good thing to do but now you flip like a light switch. We will not take this lying down

I understand your call for Schwabbies to unite and address pertinent issues like RTO in the spirit of moving forward. However, it is crucial to approach these matters through the client's eyes, prioritizing their needs while also considering the well-being of the workforce. By fostering a collaborative environment and seeking constructive solutions together, I know we can create a win-win situation for both Schwabbies and our clients alike.

This is horrible advice. Asking people to just not come in will just rack up policy violations and then terminations that your leaders can't save you from. As with all things Schwab you let it bake and see what happens, and slowly but surely the policy will allow more decisions to be made at the people leader level and balance will be better. I'm not saying back to WFH, I'm saying days will be changeable or maybe one less day in office, etc. This is how things have worked out over the long run.

The correct way to organize would be for all employees to continue working remotely as productively as possible. Let’s put up a unified front by not showing up to offices in October, and by continuing to show that we can work from home just as effectively as being in the office. If Schwab values their employees as much as they purport, they should retain our flexibility and work/life balance instead of demanding that everyone so strictly adhere to a rigid in-office schedule. What happened to innovation and industry disruption? Let’s remind Schwab to “keep looking forward” instead of moving backwards.

Please just don't suggest we all come together on a Roblox server to discuss forming a union like that other guy did in a previous post.
