Stop Selling, Start Working

Seen all of these posts/comments saying “it doesn’t pay to sell” or “merchandisers don’t even bother to fill my display”…okay here’s a thought, how about you start coming out of your house and throwing orders like the rest of us. Lol Y’all might have your DM or other buddies fooled, but we aren’t. If you are planning on just riding out the time clock and maybe sticking around after whatever comes after this Mission 1 fiasco (Warehouse) then you are sadly mistaken because everyone is sick and tired of your nonsense. SRs have become totally lazy and really aren’t even needed. Everything is already “sold-in” by corporate for scripted picture taking purposes so if all the haphazard let’s just stick one pack here and one bag there for a picture then that’s not selling. Everyone loves to knock the merchandisers and yes…some are really terrible…but…others work their b*tts off and then get trashed by some absolutely worthless SR that even after 6 months haven’t even set foot in some of their stores (you have time…remember your sales calls that you submitted saying you met with so and so at the store ;-P ). It’s all good though, when more people quit, you’ll have to finally come to work so you can really justify why you are pulling 50 hours each week. Have fun and fingers crossed for call outs!!

You know what... everyone here is right. We as SRs aren't really needed with this new program. But unfortunately until the FTOWs can show that they can handle all the responsibilities. I'm guessing the office, the real office, is going to want to see it in at least 60% of all the regions before they go with FTOWs full force. So honestly, if you don't want us around because you feel we're more of a hindrance than an actual advantage ( because our knowledge and expertise has been needed by every FTOW I've seen out there at some point since this all started) , then I suggest you keep putting that foot forward and give the office the ammo they need to push us out. They're fueling this internal war and we're all taking the bait and pointing fingers. Like all wars this isn't going to end well for any of us in the front line. FTOWs , take advantage of what your SR can teach you and SRs , be patient and understanding with your FTOWs because they are basically doing our jobs to the best of their ability. It's our job to prepare them for the next step.

Its hilarious you say SR’s need to “come out of their house and throw orders like the rest of us”! Sorry, GPS doesnt allow you to “stay at home”. Scripted displays/ F&D items still need to be sold in and executed at store level. You think because Walmart is supposed to have an Endcap of Ritz that its a lock to go up? Dont think so, manority of the time you have to walk the store and identify oppurtunity and then convince the decision maker to let you have it. Probably 85% of my time is spent throwing loads, writing orders, cleaning up messes or fixing sloppy merchandising. So, when you say “throw orders like the rest of us”, we are and were probably throwing more CPH than you.

Funny you say this because as an SR I merchandise more now than ever. Also we have upwards of 25 stores to manage. Even the "scripted displays" need to verified with store management. I don't see any ftow talking with storemangement. My ftow have no clue what's in ad or displays going up and without me would never build a display. It's amazing you think SR do nothing when every SR I talk to wants to quit. If it was so easy you would think we would love it
