Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Shell returning to common sense (that is, core competency)?

https://worldoil.com/news/2023/7/13/shell-considers-selling-stake-in-renewable-power-unit-as-ceo-turns-focus-back-to-fossil-fuels

Goodness, what if fast-follower MW reads this? What will we then do with all the alternative fuel GMs, VPs, and assorted other newly-created and recycled managers?

For those who continue to buy into the Chevron alternative fuel charade, what about "... U.S. peers Exxon Mobil Corp. and Chevron Corp., which have stuck more closely to their core businesses of oil and gas." ...and wouldn't this bring a smile to MW's face?: "Shell’s renewable-power business has come under pressure as Sawan pursues what he’s called a “ruthless” approach to prioritizing returns, meaning the unit has to generate profits in addition to cutting the company’s carbon footprint. While Sawan said he will continue to invest in renewable power, he’s vowed to be more selective and only pursue projects that create sufficient value."

this is a valueable site where real words can be heard other than just makeup craps only elsewhere.

Shell has had its tail between its legs, Ben was a total disaster and destroyed so much value. They sold their Permian position for pennies on the dollar to appease absolute nutjobs in the Netherlands and green bozos. I am SO glad chevron had MW at the helm who actually approached this all MUCH more rationally. Complain all you want, MW positioned CVX way better than Shell or XOM

Do not hitch your wagon to CNE or the other greenwashing endeavors. Do not participate in the ESG nonsense. Reject DEI, embrace meritocracy.

BRILLIANT! Oil Companies concentrated on…oil! Maybe now we can get to some layoffs!

When I come to the layoff site for info about the possibilities of layoffs I love to read the completely irrelevant and unrelated comments that the pathetic losers with no life have that have nothing else but this site. It makes all my layoff as well as real life situation worries and concerns immediately dissolve and seem miniscule. Thanks for this.
