Even ignoring the extreme difficulty in explaining the simplest of concepts or tasks, I feel legitimately depressed that my work is so unimportant to senior management and they just care about cutting costs. I'll probably be out of a job and the company will get picked apart by the regulators once they see the quality of the work coming out of the new teams. Unlike some other people on this site, I was pretty happy with my job and team. Nobody wins here and everyone involved seems so shortsighted...

Let them all implode in India!
There are some people where no amount of training will help because they simply don’t have the skills to do the work.
There are also certain cultural/professional dynamics where very junior people get hired and they’re not at all prepared to do the job.
I was in a call today and someone brought up an issue with a system that has been known for over a year. The person said the manager for this app told him all the support and work was moved offshore. And I was thinking, yeah so what? It’s your app Fix the f’ing thing.
I know this manager and he’s nearly useless.
I understand and feel the same, OP.
The job I have (which could easily be done by AI) that only exists because of rules "the firm" has in place will, hopefully, last another 1-2 years. I used to think I'd be gone by now, but after years of this executive team, I expect it to last longer than 1-2 years. The amount of rework we get from the policies that Scharf & co. have enacted is growing and they keep throwing more work our way.
If I can milk this thing for 3-4 more years I'll be in exactly the position I want to be for my next career move and Wells will have paid me to do it.
OP wrote "Unlike some other people on this site, I was pretty happy with my job and team." Serves you right for allowing yourself to drink the Kool-aid and being fooled. Now, you understand what everyone else on the site was complaining about only that it's too little, too late.
I just ignore their questions.
Well maybe train them better so their quality isn't bad.
