Randell stated the company intended to put all employees on Obama care once the kinks were out of it. Isn’t that wonder boy still on our payroll?

AT&T self-insures, therefore their ideal employee is young, healthy, and single with no dependents.
Damn, did you have early access to what JS was going to say today? Talk about a comment aging really well (pun intended) and being spot-freaking-on!
"What you miss is that companies should not be in business of providing health care. How many European companies or Asian companies have to worry about that? But Americans are gullible and fall for we want to have our private insurance until insurance becomes so expensive that we get terrible offerings like we do from AT&T now. And that is if you have a job. God forbid you lose your job before 65."
European healthcare systems worked great during the 60's, 70's, and 80's when they had declining populations not so much with all the unskilled migrants. Then you add in all the new products and services (you think you were getting an MRI in 1975?) along with everyone getting fat and you have the makings of a disaster.

"Dare I say the management high deductible high premium plans are likely on par with what's offered on the open market anyway."
you may dare but that does not mean you would have access to as many healthcare providers. For example, when my wife was pregnant with our kids, we were greeted with a sign at her OBGYN saying "we do not accept any of the Obamacare plans".
I do remember Randall commenting years ago that he felt "gravity" was leading us towards dropping employee health care

Hard to compare countries in Africa and LA due to the intrinsic corruption. Stick to Europe for comparisons.
European and Asian companies? What about African and South American companies? I don't come here for all the MAGA dogwhistles but they are getting harder to ignore.

Way to go Randall.
