Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Too white

Line of business managers are all white men followed by white women. Diversity and inclusion doesn’t apply. What wrong with this picture….hiring their own kind because that is what they are comfortable with? Please wake up it is 2023 .

Hardly. Diversity across the board in IT for women and all genders.

The problem I have seen is too much emphasis on DEI. I don't care about your orientation and don't need it splashed on the intranet on a DAILY basis.

This comment is true. There are a lot of white people making terrible decisions in the company, and given the benefit of the doubt every time. A simple example, I’ve worked for 3 senior managers/director who tried to educate me on grammar who had bad grammar themselves. I simply got tired of educating them and completing the work that was shifted to me (more work yet no promotion) so bowed out of the company altogether. Until the company puts more POC in all levels of management especially higher management, the whiteness of USB will lead to erroneous yet unchallenged strategies and direction.

People who make everything about race are exhausting and often very hypocritical. The very title of this post is blatantly racist. It needs to be deleted.

This is accurate from a perspective of executive leadership. What else can you expect from a Minnesota based company. A lot of color in middle management

The only way that a merger works is if all of TOS is eliminated in favor of PNC systems.

I am interested in hearing about this clearly racist promotion.

I've witnessed a clearly racist promotion but neither HR or the "ethics" line cared...despite actual numbers ad evidence.

PNC and USB merger! That I gotta see.
Two big regional banks marrying together will be devastating for FTEs…

"Please wake up it is 2023." Correct, it is, and it's time for everyone to stop categorizing people based on race and forming opinions of people based on their race. The title of this post is "too white" so please do some self reflection.

Actually in TOS when it comes to the managers and leaders, it is a white persons world. When it’s the rank and file you will find a little more diversity.

Tokenism is alive an well in TOS management. Mostly white dudes with a specific number of women and always one person of color.

Offshore folks work for peanuts in jobs that you are not qualified for because you majored in some liberal arts or science degree versus engineering. Then they throw one senior guy of color in the ranks to show diversity, but 95% are still white male in senior ranks especially on business side.

Not true in my experience. They give preference to offshore workers and everyone else and then white males

Nope I am an enlightened white employee and well trained in unconscious bias. It is not personal (like you are making it) but an observation.

That is absolutely untrue. Sounds like you got passed up on a promotion and your playing the race card.
