I’m not sure about everyone else but I have been super stressed out recently. First, the RTO message really messed with my emotions. I know that they are not telling the truth about our productivity and that their true intentions on bringing us back is different than the reasons they present us. Then, they bring out the layoff news which really put my anxiety into hyperdrive. I kept thinking about be being a victim of a corrupt executive council and how it was unfair. To be honest that has been eating me every day since they announced it. I haven’t gotten good sleep in days. I have been checking this forum every few minutes for some type of relief which will never come. Working from home is no longer an option with Schwab (their idea of flexibility is a joke) and I may get laid off soon. I see your true colors EC and you have betrayed many who will not forget. However, I remembered learning what Epictetus taught and that I should not worry about what I cannot control. Yes they may make me go back but that doesn’t stop me from taking my talent elsewhere. Just because the executive council is not seeing how the future will be wether they like it or not doesn’t mean I don’t. Yes, they may lay me off but the severance package may be the final push for me to start my own business. I will no longer let the executive council have control over my feelings, I get to choose that. If they don’t see they lost a great employee that’s their fault. If you have a free moment YouTube some of Epictetus and listen to what he has to say. It made me feel better and have a sense of control again I hope it does for you too

OP here If you saw my stats you would say otherwise. I’m the top performer on my team and I get exceeds expectations every year. You can call it whining if you want to but I have seen the greener grass and will not accept anything less. I most likely will leave but you attitude shows you can’t see the future just like the EC. You should apply at blockbuster I think you could really turn it around. A job is an agreement between two parties and I can have demands too. If leadership doesn’t recognize they will lose top talent that is their fault. I will be successful wherever I go
@1lqq+1nOr4Wn2 If leaders are tired of people claiming to be working while they do their laundry and watch television they should do their own job and reprimand them.
This comment proves, yet again, how disconnected Schwab leadership is from their employees.
Leadership is tired??? How dare you sit on that high horse with your exorbitant salaries and shame your staff. Employees are the backbone of this company and you are "tired". This way of thinking is selfish, narrow-minded, cruel, and dismissive.
If you really believe that forcing RTO will make anyone who is unproductive change? You're either willfully ignorant or spouting lies to make yourself feel better.
The way leadership handled these decisions is atrocious. Trust and loyalty have been completely broken. Leadership would know this if they had any idea, or cared, about what their employees are experiencing.
@1lqq+1nOr4Wn2 - Nahhhh, I'm going to do the bare minimum and you're going to have to pay me to leave, because even working at 10% I do better than the toadies that su-k your toes, however much they pretend they like working in the office lmao
It’s so exhausting to hear people wine again and again about a hybrid workplace. That by definition is work place flexibility. Leaders are tired of people claiming to be working while they do their laundry and watch television. If you are unhappy , leave,l. that will make everyone happy because no one is goin to want to sit next to you
Best advice - don't stress over things you can't control.
Identify what your fears are and concentrate on how you can influence those fears.
You can't make these changes go away, but you can influence how you deal with them and create a peaceful atmosphere for yourself within the corporate chaos.
Pretty much the same for me honestly. Life was going so well before they upended it. Fu-k the EC and fu-k Schwab altogether.
You sound like you have much bigger problems than your job
Visualize what you'd like your future to be and go get it!
It's difficult to find a "dream job" in an industry where making money is the goal--the goal basically feeds greed among all the stakeholders, and eventually the worker will lose because they are the only stakeholder that is dependent on the power structure. All other stakeholders are independent.
So visualize a career in another industry, where some other product/service need is met. I bet you can find work that uses your skills and values your contribution more.
Bravo!! And amen!
