Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Recall season, any day ending in “y”

We really suffer from quality issues.

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2023 Ford Super Duty pickups and 2023 Ford Escape crossovers due to an issue with the digital instrument cluster.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the digital instrument cluster panel module may have been improperly soldered, preventing the instrument panel from illuminating. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, “Control and Displays.”

The hazards: an inoperable instrument panel cannot show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, which may increase the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this issue.

Components: digital instrument cluster panel and module

Affected vehicles: select 2023 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 pickups produced between January 19th, 2023, and May 31st, 2023, as well as select 2023 Ford Escape crossovers produced between November 15th, 2022, and June 16th, 2023.

Number of vehicles affected: 38,695

The fix: dealers will replace the module or instrument panel as necessary, free of charge.

Ford will have to cut half of EV staff after this huge projected loss! The recalls, the SUVs are piling up... Farley saying Hybrids are the way forward now is the right approach! You id--ts and your EV cr-p dream... you would of bankrupt Ford... they still might go bankrupt. GM is a mess too... The new Bolt... what a joke! Toyota is the smart one... that will be my next SUV!

Ford now reminds of the old commercial: "I've fallen, and I can't get up!"

Actually recalls are a bad thing. It means that we overlooked (or chose to ignore) an issue that puts a customer or family at risk.

Continued recalls dilutes the brand and customer confidence in Ford.

Recall on e brake for F150. Never did like the e brake. Would rather have a mechanical interface. Wires rubbing on the axle. What mo--n designed the wire harness???
