It's become very toxic here. From what I hear, it seems that it is not a rare case at all that people find themselves in a situation where managers have stolen their ideas and presented them as their own?

Welcome to the JPMorgan Chase culture.. Director's gets on calls presents your ideas has his/her's then becomes managing director, while you are still VP or associate.. Run from here if you are a developer
No, it does not happen everywhere. I came from a technology company and I did not see that happen there. It is happening in my current team. My manager was able to present my work as their own until I created a Confluence page and documented everything I did. Document as much as you can. Create blog posts, send emails, speak to other groups about the work that you have done. I have my fingers crossed for you.
Peers steal just as much, if not more. Trust no one.
It happens everywhere. I've worked at other banks and taking credit for others work is what managers do for job security. The only way they can keep their jobs is to lie to their management about their accomplishments which belongs to the individual contributor.
