Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Company needs to do a pay increase for long term associates. Associates are coming in making more than a 34 year of service associate. I have held every lead position in the club and someone comes off the street making more than me. Where is the recognition for us staying with the company and going through the good and the bad for years

What you make after 20+ years and what they pay to new hires and new hires with experience just goes to show you HOW MUCH THEY HAVE BEEN UNDER PAYING YOU FOR ALL THOSE YEARS!!! There should not be a sudden increase of pay increase like these newbies are getting for doing nothing and still relying on the vets doing all the work . I’ve seen associates go from $12 to $20 in less than 3 years and not even take on a lead position but want us long term maxed out associates to move into management and still make less than the top out of regular associates pay . I WASNT BORN YESTERDAY !!!!! Just remember the queen ant has thousands of ants working for them everyday while they sit back and relax while you work hard and bust your az while they live with luxury year after year . Blame only your selfs IF you let this happen . You have a mouth the company stats for you to USE it !! Majority rules - never forget it 😉

Yep. Sad. Then they ask us to help train these new people. Not gonna do it.

I was on light duty from an on the clock injury. At the three month mark they were pushing me to do more and more. I was not supposed to reach above my shoulder. I had a snapped bicep tendon. They were forcing me to do all sign changes in the morning. Was told that even though I was physically literally running to get it done I was not doing it fast enough. Told I had to get it done in hour. I was also a morning fork driver. So I was being interrupted from hanging signs to drop and put up stuff. Didnt matter. I was yelled at on the radio for not getting the signs done in an hour. I stated on the radio I was running as fast as I could. I was told I was not fast enough. Other associates were asking me why I was running. They were also forcing me to do jewelry audits that I had never done. On those days I did not hang signs. The audit had to be done by opening. I found mistakes others had made but was grilled over how when the other person said the audit was ok I found mistakes. I showed the mistakes to the manager but she looked at me like it was still my fault. I was developing ulcers and never slept more than 2 or 3 hours in a row. The day after I was told running was not fast enough I put in my two weeks. I left nearly a year ago. And no longer have nightmares. I had 32.5 years in. No manager asked if I would reconsider.

No appreciation or loyalty at Sams Club. They do not care one bit about you as a human being or associate. The years and knowledge that you have mean nothing to them. I watch many newbies clock in and do absolutely NOTHING and management says nothing. But as a 20 year receiving associate I get questioned as to what I am doing next or what I am working on. Get the eff outa here!!!!

they're hoping you feel so insulted & underappreciated that you'll quit. then they can hire someone that doesn't earn pto & doesn't understand that things don't have to be as difficult as they are.
the odds of them staying around for more than a year or two are slim. so they can start the cycle over again without ever having to give much of a raise or pay out pto.
