I have heard that this week's layoffs are separate from those coming, announced 2 weeks ago. This week's were part of the 'original' plan, not this new one. This would explain why they weren't so much management focused.

Director here, what's happening now is unrelated to the $500M in cuts that Walt is talking about. Any current layoffs are separate actions related to previously planned cuts.
What layoffs happened this week? My group must be out of the loop.
