In the next round of layoffs, what area is the target? What is the projected number/percentage? Does anyone know? Do the managers and supervisors already know about this next round? It’s all very unnerving!

No one is safe.
If the rumors of a September layoff are true, I would guess they won't be targeted. Maybe a few areas will be unscathed, but not likely.
I strongly suspect that those rumors are just that until the UAW negotiations are done though. You can bet that if they cave to the UAW demands(hope they do) they'll make up the money by reducing white collar staff, and likely awards next year. The last thing they'll touch is their own precious salaries and bonuses. After all, we all think JF should be getting max compensation for the job he is doing, right?
