Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Does the public have the right idea about AT&T?

It seems to me that despite everything, a lot of people still think that the workplace here is much better than it really is.

South Central Bell was great. BellSouth was great. AT&T is not.

AT&T was a great company to work for until SBC came along and really messed things up! T management was streamlined with reduced layers of management and along came SBC. They kept the old Bell mentality, multiple layers of unnecessary management and spend crazy executives that thought they were a media company. Crash, there goes the company down in flames no thanks to SBC personnel!

Much of the public knows how unhappy we are. We have made it clear here. Some words has gotten out.

Slow rage steaming and about to blow as we give Covid to our family. Again I know, leadership and our government has brainwashed many it’s just like the flue. Yet CDC recommends we stay home. Hmmmm We’re only at 400 to 500 deaths a week. Su-k it up buttercup and lmao.

Employee Engagement Survey results are always extremely favorable, Has been this way for years. Why would anyone in the public think there were issues?

The job is great. The people I work with, extending up to the AVP level are great. The people I work with are my extended family. The folks in the ivory tower are delusional, disconnected from reality, unqualified for their level of responsibility, and d-mb as rocks. If they would get out of the way of us underlings and do their job of positioning us for success instead of adding their roadblocks of mismanagement to our plates, they’d get their cushy stock price increases 10-fold

Surplused people don’t submit employee surveys, they don’t raise the stock price, and they don’t give their experience back and yet surplused people are the only thing this leadership crew knows how to create.

I generally have no complaints about AT&T. For the most part, I enjoy my job, co-workers, and at least the leadership I see on a regular basis (Manager, DOS, VP).

I genuinely like the perks of my job, working in sales, the pay is fantastic and honestly there have been quite a few career opportunities for me so far. (4 promotions in a few years)

I understand that this experience might not be shared with other people. I understand that business is business. So long as AT&T continues to honor their part of my employment contract, I continue to perform for them.
