When you build poor quality super expensive autos that customers don't want, have below investment grade credit rating and have an unsound business plan what do you do? Buy off politicians and get massive government loan (cough taxpayer handout). What do you do when non-paid off legislatures question the unethical loans/handouts? Hire more high-paid lobbyists to convince them to shut up about it.
Meanwhile the common working man cannot comprehend why Ford spends considerably more money on lawyers, lobbyists and leadership salaries than on actually designing, engineering and manufacturing autos. Oh sure it makes Ford sense, but Ford is a s-show.
