Facts on visa employees

US based H1B, green card or other type visa employees cannot take unpaid furloughs as this is a break in employment and can result in deportation. Visa and green card employees will be exempt from furloughs in the US.

I bet nobody is mentioning that little fact.

Only H1B is like this.
L1 and O1 can be furloughed. Green card too, in fact green card is practically the same as a national on nearly all legalities (accept you can't vote I think), not company tied like L1 and O1 etc.

Pretty sure it is only H1B Visa that is exempt.

Except for me on an L1 Visa, annoyingly I am not exempt. L1 is the very worst visa.
