Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

PIP And PIL Were Rescinded- time to call Saul

My PIP and PIL were rescinded after being placed in NSI, with no severance. I was given a variety of reasons but nothing solid. I fell into that same category - 49 years old, worked for the company 22 years, and no issues. I’ve contacted Gregg Rosenberg who sued Exxon Mobil before. Before this, I had never contacted this law firm and have nothing to do with it so this is not an ad or endorsement.

Even if you do not claim a lawsuit against EM, expose them in the media. Use all the media as you have available. Write down a review in all the website that you have access, as well.

you may settle, but you will expose no one. Any settlement deal will result in a NDA, which means you can tell no one about your settlement. Exxon gets sued all the time, and they settle frequently. Everyone settles because nobody wants to really go to battle with Exxon in a trial. It's expensive and you may lose. They have the upper hand.. If they come to you and offer you $100k for your troubles, what are you going to do? Go to trial, possibly spend $500k, and lose?

It's and insidious cycle, and exxon knows how to play the game. They know the probabilities that someone will sue, and they work that into their overall plan. They still come out ahead, they still get to treat people however they want because they never get bad press because of the NDAs and as a result one cannot show a "continuous pattern of abuse, across the corporation." They are the epitome of the evil, soulless corporation.

I believe that No PIP and no PIL means this is not a low performance (LP) case but a termination.

This should happen only on the grounds of a company policy violation. If they don't have something thoroughly documented, then it definitely looks to me like age discrimination.

I'm very sorry this is happening to. You will come ahead of this, both financially and professionally. Good luck and keep us posted about your progress. Maybe you inspire others to follow on your footsteps.

Sometimes it’s just getting your story out and exposing people, that might be justice enough. Bullies are bullies because we let them and no one stands up to them - learned that from grade school.

Lawsuits of this kind generally go nowhere. Even when they do, it’s very difficult to meet the burden of proof.

Do not take legal advice from the internet, especially this part of it, which is crawling with $hithouse lawyers.

How is this even possible unless someone told you the wrong category and now you aren’t on MLRP

I know Gregg. Wonderful person. Texas is tricky, however (a true right to work state). Unless there is something like an age-related claim, choices are limited. But, if what you are saying is true, OMG!.

You'll do well on your next job, however (take a break to release the bad vibes from this experience).
