Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Anyone else that's been targeted think they have enough for a lawsuit? I'm calling a lawyer

I am being targeted and retaliated against. I am being railroaded out the door. Anyone else in this boat and ready to call a lawyer?

Members are who should bring a class action, not employees. It’s the Members money that is being misspent, wasted. Members have to pay more in premiums because of Wayne and the crooked EC’s mismanagement.

You sound like an HR plant and I hope you don't have ANY position of authority. Facts are you do not need to report something before it happens for you to have a legitimate case against your employer. There are many instances of targeting where they mask it with "performance" and employees have won thousands in damages. If you feel targeted consult an employement attorney most will usually consult for free and be honest with you if you have a case or not, dont feel because they are so large corporation with an army of attorneys that its not worth your time because it is.

Okay if you feel targeted,

What was the reason?

Is that reason protected? Age? Race?

What was the impact?

Can you actually prove it? Evidence. From a person of authority. Can you prove that you filed a complaint to employee relations and/or ethics and nothing was done?

If you answer no to answer questions above,

I don’t want people wasting time and energy on attorneys when they could save money they need and just spend energy on getting a new job

USAA will most likely tie it to performance (if individual) OR change in business needs (lay offs). You won’t be able to sue, and laughable for a class action.

While I agree that every case is individual, I have seen company's squish an individual.

I think that there is plenty of similarities across the stories I have read here to say that #1 - USAA is "very bothered" by what we are revealing here, so keep up the great work! My manager actually implied that they were going to track "us" down and retaliate. Too bad we can't record these sh!tty conversations (and I bet that fairly soon, he will be floating in our same boat, and wanting to join us)! #2 - There is always power in numbers. If enough people step forward and testify as to what happened to them, validity is added to the situation. USAA cannot intimidate, retaliate, or threaten a large group of people away. It is not so easy to squish a large group of people. #3 - I am sure that an intelligent, capable, motivated lawyer can handle any unique aspects of what is going down at USAA to handle every single stinky scheme they have hatched.

I say "Power to the people!"

If you think you need a lawyer, talk to one. Don’t wait. Most will do a consultation for a reasonable fee. Everyone’s circumstances are different, so a person interested in securing legal representation should do that, and not wait to hear what someone else’s prospective lawyer told them about their possible case.

They’re an insurance company, so they’re pretty lawyered up. But I’ll be so impressed if it works! They treat people terribly while smiling, lying, and maintaining eye contact. Very unnerving. I’ve worked for bigger and smaller companies, but this one was the most insincere.

I suggest speaking to your local Workforce commission (Texas is TWC) prior to obtaining an attorney to get a clear picture of options.

The environment was so toxic and no signs of getting better. I just left. There was no way to succeed as nothing was ever good enough. Or key deliverables were doomed because of fake fire drills and diversions.
Best thing I ever did for my health and family.

Yes, currently documenting everything. Employee Relations is not an advocate for employees either. I tried that route and their stature immediately turned into a defensive attempt to protect USAA at all costs.

Exactly! I saw the writing on the wall, and I walked out. The place made me sick. I have 7 companies interested now and final rounds starting next week! But, yes, the goal is to sc--w you out of the generous severance package.

Maybe I will post my story on here one day. They fired me because they said I wasn't doing the work although I had perfect production/QC/and monthly review scores. It was weird. Found a new job within a few weeks so wasn't a big deal but maybe there was a discriminattory element to it. I just realized after covid when they reneged on our RTO deal this wasnt the place for me anyway so left but I got screwed out of severence.
