If you are shopping Honda I got a good deal at LaFontaine when I was let go in 2019. It's been a good vehicle for our family over the last four years.
"Ford is always sold to the consumer as American made. That's a joke!! They're as American made as Toyota and Honda!" You might as well say Ford hates the USA, they will have to bring in foreign nationals to work for them AND buy their cars, but they won't pay the foreign nationals enough to afford their cars.
I also bought my last Ford 3 years ago, and it was between that and a Honda, hindsight is 2020, I wish I bought the Honda. I will never, ever buy another Ford, and nobody in the USA should, Ford deserves nothing and if you buy one, you may very well regret it.
Don't buy a Ford, there are many better options, be smart and use them. They should not have a good market in USA anymore since they have sent most of the jobs out of the country. They are a global company, and they don't care about the USA, period. Neither does GM, both of them deserve to have to sell only in the countries where they employ the most people, not the USA.
What is happening this upcoming week is another example of the deep greed and disgraceful behavior of the Ford family. Farley is nothing but a pawn doing Bill Ford's and the Ford BoD's will. More than likely those remaining over 50 with over 20 years of service will be terminate. The soul-less pig K Robinson who gets rewarded with a bs position Director of Family Vehicles is responsible for the Boston Consulting list that targets this group. The rest will be those that do not submit to the nepotism and favoritism of the old-boy network. Performance reviews, loyalty, good work are meaningless. Since Mark Field and to a much greater extent, Jim Hackett, FoMoCo has sunk to levels not suitable for vermin. EV is a smokescreen, Bill Ford announced over 10 years ago, Ford will invest in electrification, it went nowhere and continues to go nowhere. All the EV programs are delayed - the result of incompetent rejects brought in from HP, Tesla, Renault, Disney, etc etc. Obviously, lots of anger, and rightfully, unless you subscribe to the old-boy network and it is a ' boys ' club only you are nothing but labor that will be discarded. DEI at Ford is a lie. Harassment, s-xism, ageism, homophobia are the norm and overlooked. Farley and his ' team ' have not demonstrated any success leading to profits. D Field continues to pontificate yet produce no results. All the ' design thinkers ' with pathetic titles such as ' secret we-pon ' continue to produce meaning decks of nonsense wasting money and resources. EU produces an EV Explorer that is laughed at since the plants can not produce them and a design thats copied from Volvo. Sad, Pathetic. To he-l with Ford. For those that are ' seperated ' good luck to you. Those that were separated over the last few years have positions at Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Nio, Nvidia and many other successful companies as Ford tops the recall and unethical lists. The upcoming layoffs are a temporary bo-m for the stock but Ford will reap what it sows and it is all garbage.
I wouldn't put much stock into the numbers the media is reporting. Here's how it works.
If you are an LL2+ you know the real numbers.
As you go down the chain the numbers hinted at shrink so that the LL4 and down do not think they are part of it. By time you get to the LL5s they are getting told "hundreds".
That is where this hundreds is being leaked. The truth is that this is big. When official press release comes out it will be in the 8k-10k range, including agency and contractors.
Whomever this unnamed source is, they are either being lied to, or are lying themselves to keep mass hysteria down.
Good luck to us all.
Farley is at it again, leaking this info to the media. He is a very underhanded human being. Don't let him or the senior leadership kid you that they feel bad about any of these mass firings. They are out for a bigger slice of the pie and could care less about any loyalties or years of service in the company. That means nothing to them.
Our quality sucks and we fail miserably at every vehicle launch! Yeah, sounds like time to indiscriminately push out the talented, experienced people! Seems like we would be better off hiring some new leadership that knows WTF they're doing!
I bought my last Ford 3 years ago. Loyalty goes two ways.
My next vehicle will be a Toyota. Sc--w Ford. Sc--w the Big 3.
A lot more Americans work for Ford & GM than Toyota & Honda.
Ford is always sold to the consumer as American made. That's a joke!! They're as American made as Toyota and Honda!
Meanwhile pre the 5000 person buyout GM had 58000 salary workers in the US. That means they have about 53000 compared to our current 28000. Yet, supposedly we have too many salaried workers compared to our competitors.
I’d love to see how Ford would spin it. Doesn’t matter it would be BS anyway.

The on,y interesting line in the article is “Ford has about 28,000 white-collar workers in the U.S. and about 70,000 worldwide, a Ford spokesman confirmed Friday.”
Well over half of our salary employees are not in the United States these days.
Monday Jim will announce the layoffs plan . All employees will be asked to work from home and not got to the office. On Tuesday each person who is on the list will be notified.
Fire American citizens and bring in foreign nationals.
Liar Liar Fords on Fire…. Ya sure the employees will be the first to know and there will be no layoffs.
“ Ford spokesman T.R. Reid said in a statement Friday: "We have nothing to announce. As we've said, part of the ongoing management of our business includes aligning our global staffing to meet business plans, and staying cost competitive as our industry evolves. At the same time, we continue to hire in key areas so that we have the skills and expertise needed to deliver on the Ford+ plan."
