Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

Has the company changed their approach to downsizing?

Has Evil-ance changed their approach to downsizing by overloading some people with so much work they are forced to look for another job or risk dying from the stress and working overtime before retiring? That way the company doesn't have to rif more people and pay out severance to those that have been at the company long enough to collect the maximum severance payout of six months?

Sounds like the company is taking a multi-prong approach to get rid of employees. Work you to death if you refuse to leave on your own without severance, force you to move to IBM with no alternative but quit without severance, or force you to drive to an office and if your door badge swipes don't match your hybrid office designation requirement, they will document that violation on your next performance review and use it to fire you. My opinion, if you can get a job offer elsewhere, TAKE IT!!!

There could be projects on hold for various reasons, and they need to staff for which reasons may have lighter workload.

Tell me more about that — giving to others they like

85% here, managers tend to withheld projects from those they do not like/care. You and I will be out of job soon.

Agree, the other 85% probably has very little work to do

My advice is to just quietly push back on your workload and play the game. Everyone else is. This POS company relies on the 15% contentious who carry the other 85%. Trust me when they lay you off you'll be happy you dragged your behind. FEH!
